Job Description:
Our Product team is seeking a talented Senior Web Designer eager to create amazing digital experiences for hotels and their customers across the globe. This individual will work on a daily basis with our senior design staff and closely with our product management and engineering teams to deliver world-class web experiences leveraging the art and science of design. The ideal candidate is committed to keeping up with the latest techniques in web design and development, and has an eye for differentiating between design fads and important industry trends. He or she should have advanced CSS chops and welcome the challenge of designing and building in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with senior design staff to assess platform needs and determine design requirements; articulate and translate those needs into elegant interface designs
  • Follow creative/art direction to establish design patterns and extensions for responsive websites
  • Collaborate closely with team members in supporting all aspects of visual design and front-end implementation
  • Identify and balance customer and guest needs in the context of user experience design, best practices, and technology constraints
  • Understand and resolve feedback with a creative solution and positive attitude
  • Handle multiple projects, small or large, with various project leads

Requirements:

  • 5-7+ years professional Web/UX design experience
  • BA from a 4 year university or equivalent
  • A strong portfolio of work demonstrating excellent taste, a clean aesthetic, and careful attention to detail
  • Experience designing and building web sites for a range of screen sizes and device requirements
  • Advanced skills in HTML5/CSS3
  • Strong working knowledge of best practices of Responsive Web Design and cross-platform compatible coding techniques and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with {less} or other css frameworks
  • Comfort in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; ability to prioritize and focus
  • Solid intuition and enduring passion for detailed, user-centered interaction design
  • Ability to communicate progress clearly and deliver on time
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy; excellent reliability, dependability
  • Experience using Git or other distributed version control systems a plus
  • Ability to work effectively both individually and in a team environment
